I can't believe my departure date has finally arrived. It seemed like it took forever to get here. I'm sitting in the Guadalajara Airport - got another hour and a half before my flight to Dallas, Texas. From there, I fly to Madrid and then on to Barcelona. Unfortunately, I'm guessing that I only slept 2 hours last night, so I'm already exhausted. The airport p.a. system is super loud and annoying. No way to catch a few zzz's. Not to mention the fixed armrests on the seating that keep people from stretching out. I'm sure my itinerary may sound complicated, but it's probably the easiest schedule I had in a long time. I think it's less than 13 hours of flight time. I should be in Barcelona by 17:30 on the 11th. So, I got busted at security for having my poles collapsed inside my backpack. Had to break out the fractured knee cap x-ray and tell them that they were a walking aid. They let me through, under the condition that I take them out of my bag and ...
