NARRATIVE: Basically walked the roads today. I didn't want to walk the path up out of Conques to protect Mt ribs. Made it to Nohillac, then missed the path out of the village which added an extra km to my point. Then, I decided to take side roads to Livinhac instead of going to Decazeville. It went fine until the road I was on ended in a highway. Took me forever to figure out if I needed to go right (downhill) or left (uphill). Of course, it was left. I inched my way up the hill. I was really tired and out of water. When I got to the top, I sat on a wall. Supposedly, it was 2 more km into town. After about 10 minutes, I stuck my thumb out and two really sweet girls picked me up and gave to a ride exactly where I wanted to go. Unfortunately, la Vita e Bella stilla didn't have a free bed, but the place next door did so I'm sleeping there, but still eating at one of my top places. Can't wait for amazing Italian pasta tonight!
For some bizarre reason, my side hasn't been hurting at all. My back is sore though from carrying my pack... normal soreness, which is welcome compared to the rib pain.
