NARRATIVE:  Today was not supposed to be this long, but it was ok. My feet were tired by the end, but no blisters. My shoulders didn't really hurt, but stepping down hard with my left foot kills my side. I do think it's getting better, though.
Pretty uneventful day except at about 21km. There was a lovely little rest area with chickens so I thought I'd take a 20 minute break before tackling the last 3 or so km. This huge black crow let me know I was sitting on his bench. So, I moved to a second bench. He went after the hens, but then turned his attention back to me, pecking at my backpack and my hat. Ok, enough. I get it. I moved on down the road and found a better rest area with lounge chairs! The damn bird followed me there. At one point, I thought he had left, but no,  he started pecking at my arm. Figured it was a loud and clear message,  so I decided to move on. The damn crow followed me out of town, circling me like he saw me as future road kill. After a km or so, I guess he'd had enough and went back.
Loved this part of the path

The rest area... can you see the chickens?

  1. at least you got some company, it looks like he is very possessive of that bench. I don't blame him it is a beautiful place. So far it's great you are not having problems of any kind.
